Food Parcels are back at Harmony!

Our team has been delivering food parcels to those in need around Breightmet the past couple of days. We are very grateful to Clarion for funding this project and for allowing us to bring necessities to those in the most need. 🙂

If you or someone you know is in need of our help, please contact us on 01204 496161 and we will do what we can.

February Half-Term 2022

This years February half-term was a huge success with all the children and adults involved! We averaged 50 children a day for the entire week and every day was filled with so many activities that even our volunteers went home with smiles from ear-to-ear. We are still reeling from all the fun we had and can hardly wait to see everyone back again!

KFC Foundation

We’re excited to announce that we have received grant funding from @kfcfoundation_uk. Harmony youth project was selected amongst various local organisations across KFC restaurant communities in the UK, with the aim of empowering young people to fulfil their potential. Thank you to the KFC Foundation for recognising the work we do to improve the lives of young people in Bolton.

Winterzone 2021

Over the four days between Christmas and New Year we opened our doors to give the children of Bolton something interesting to do in between events. This year we had a small group of children participate, no where near the numbers we have for our Summerzone but that didn’t discourage us or stop any of the fun we had planned for them. The children had a great time with fun and games, free goody bags and as always went home full up with fantastic food.

These holiday activities were funded by Bolton’s fund Winter holiday activities.

Food Hamper Delivery

We have been sending our volunteers out to deliver food hampers to people in the Dean area. We have delivered a substantial amount of food to both Breightmet and Sutton Est Dean, supported by Clarion Housing.

If you, or anyone you know are in need of a food hamper please give us a ring or email, we would be happy to arrange something for you.

ASDA Makes Donation to Harmony

Check out the Bolton News Article about this donation “Store helping to bring a bit of harmony to community”.

Bolton Asda store community champion, Christine Baldwin, presented ‘Harmony Youth Project’ with a donation of £1,000 on behalf of the Asda Foundation. The donation will help us to provide essentials and celebrate a ‘Bringing Communities Back Together’ event which will be held on November 18th 2021. We would like to thank Christine for all her help.

Mark Logan MP

Mark Logan MP and member of Parliament for Bolton called in for a visit, accompanied by his assistant, Maya Roberts. It was great to see both of them and the children had a great time talking to them both and joining in the fun photo shoot.

A huge thank you to the ‘Vinci UK Foundation’  represented by Michelle Curzon, for their donation. We really appreciate it.

Below is the video of this visit, please give it a watch:

Summerzone 2021

The Summerzone’ is an innovative project for children aged 5-18 that we have run for 19 years and is one of our most popular annual events. Designed to run during the school holidays, it would be ideal for children from families with low incomes from Halliwell and surrounding areas.

Our Summerzone has been really popular this year. We have three more volunteers and every young person is receiving a packed lunch. Fun and games start as soon as the children walk in, and keep going until home time. Many parents ask “how on earth do we cope?” But here at Harmony we have over 20 years experience with young people and we love what we do!

Harmony, as many other charities and business’s in the UK almost closed our doors due to the Government lockdowns, in fact, we had two lockdowns here in Bolton, so we are proud that we managed to ride through this bad time and survive to serve our community after 20 years and we hope to keep serving for the next 20 years.

Summerzone is a fun and exciting time for children to mix with others, be part of groups working together and learn new skills, we have noticed this year more participants from minority sectors which is great to see, and although it means more work, we are always happy to supply vegetarian meals to suit any religious requirements.

When you see these children together, it shows what a great community we have and the diversity of all as one main unit.
