Harmony Youth Project recently had the opportunity to take part in the Greater Manchester Mayoral Election Special with ITV Granada Reports.

It was a great experience for our team. Most importantly, it gave us the chance to represent our community and be part of a wider conversation about Greater Manchester’s future.

During the event, we met a range of people from across the region. We also had the opportunity to hear different views about the issues affecting local communities.

For Harmony, taking part in events like this is important. Our work brings us into contact with young people and families across Bolton every day. Therefore, we understand how decisions about communities and local services can affect people’s lives.

The Greater Manchester mayoral by-election will take place on 30 July 2026, following Andy Burnham’s move from the mayoralty to Parliament. Residents across Greater Manchester’s ten boroughs will be eligible to vote. ITVX

We enjoyed taking part and meeting everyone involved. Above all, we hope the future brings positive opportunities for young people, families and communities across Bolton and Greater Manchester.
