Harmony Youth Project recently visited Bury Defence Academy to deliver an engaging knife crime safety session with young people.

As part of our Sharper Choices initiative, we took along our mobile prison van. This gave the young people an opportunity to step inside and experience a powerful learning environment.

During the visit, we spoke openly about knife crime, personal safety and the consequences that carrying a knife can have. We also encouraged the young people to think about the choices they make and how those choices can affect their future.

However, knife crime education does not have to feel like a classroom lesson. We want young people to feel comfortable asking questions and joining the conversation. Therefore, we make our sessions interactive, engaging and suitable for the young people taking part.

The mobile prison van helps us bring these conversations to life. It creates a memorable experience while opening the door to discussions about peer pressure, consequences and staying safe.

Most importantly, the young people got involved and made the visit enjoyable for our team too. It was a fun and educational experience for everyone.

A big thank you to Bury Defence Academy for welcoming Harmony Youth Project and supporting our knife crime prevention work.

Together, we can help young people understand the risks, think about their futures and make Sharper Choices.
